Corcel seeks to offer investors access to two of the most important forces at work in the world today, the decarbonization of the global economy and the associated energy transition. These two trends manifest themselves in several ways, most importantly the move to renewable power and the elimination of fossil fuel consumption across the economy. These movements will require and facilitate the rise of the lowly battery from powering our flashlights to energizing our cars, trains and eventually our planes and ships. Batteries are also set to play an outsized role in decarbonized energy grids, balancing out the volatilities of renewable energy sources.
Current estimates are that a supply crunch is coming across key battery metals including nickel, cobalt and vanadium. As battery production increase new supplies of these critical metals will need to be discovered and funded into production. Corcel seeks to identify, acquire and develop battery metal resources prior to these structural price hikes being fully realized.
